It's my party!

Okay, finally admit it... I hit the big 4 0 as indicated on the cake in the pic. The others, (hmmm blond conspiracy) turned 40-something along with me at our joint party! SO, please sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US. Still accepting presents, for those of you who wondered, er.... hmmm.... maybe not? Okay, well wait until you hear about my newest book! It is SO much fun to write and I just know you are going to LOVE it, Romance, scary, chapters.... no Not the Twilight series, I wish I wrote that it seems, but you will LOVE it... Stay tuned if you are interested...

Why visit schools?

As any teacher will tell you, when you spend time with students, you become filled with stories. Some of the best advice about being a writer has come from human beings just short of a decade old. I could write an amazing book about what I have overheard in teacher's lounges. Every time they are talking about that particular boy, who is absolutely driving them crazy I want to raise my hand in the air and say, "THAT WAS ME!"

Let's go for a run dad!

Toots is cold, but with her little jacket on, she still wants to run!

PEACHY KEEN!

The mornings are getting cooler. Autumn is in the air. The peaches are giving off their wonderful scent when the sun rises and touches them with warmth. These peaches are on one of my 10 peach trees. My yard is becoming an orchard

of fruit, with apples, peaches and soon pear trees. The veggies are coming on well, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, squash and some berries.

The fruits up above...

One of my favorite aspects of being a runner/biker is being able to get off the beaten path and see things I otherwise wouldn't. There are so many apple, peach and pear trees along my path, including my front and back yard, that sometimes you have to remember to look up. Don't these apples look good enough to eat?

My Camera at the ready!

I love autumn and we are heading into it here in Colorado. This morning on my run I saw many leaves showing the change in store. I love the cool, early morning air, especially on those long runs where the sun comes up and warms the earth little by little.

Doesn't this look like an inviting little road to see what is at the end? If you click on the picture it will get larger on your screen as they all do...

Enjoy the season!

A DAY AT THE ZOO

I saw a lion and a bear,
a giraffe and an emu.
I wondered what it would be like,
to live there, as they do.

They sit and watch the people,
and run and jump around.
What are those people doing?
The orangutan just frowned.

And then I saw a polar bear,
eating fish in an ice block.
He leaned into another’s ear,
bet his breath was quite a shock!

Some things just crack me up!

I love dogs and on Tootsie's or Pwowie's (Ruthie) birthdays they get dressed up in costumes. This little scuba diver gave me an idea for Tootsie's costume to greet trick or treaters this year at the door...
